We might see celebrities as a breed apart from the rest of us mortals, with their perfect faces and glossy hair, but the truth is that they’re cut from the same primal cloth as any of us. And just like the rest of us, they need somewhere to sleep and eat. And what better place to do that than a stunning home, where they can enjoy a little privacy away from the prying eyes of the paparazzi.
While the world may be fascinated by their multimillion-dollar assets, most of these famous celebrities would rather spend their money on a lavish home. A new report from real estate company Zillow found that nearly 2 in 3 celebrity homes are located in the Los Angeles area, with Beyonce and Jay-Z’s USD 200 million Malibu mansion leading the pack. The same goes for many other famous people, including LeBron James, Kylie Jenner and George Lucas’ expensive California properties.
One of the most recognizable celebrity houses is that of singer and actress Kelly Clarkson. Designed by her and decorated with an eclectic cowboy-themed style, the property features a saloon-style bar complete with saddle bar stools. It is also equipped with a movie theater and game room, where the former American Idol star holds her weekly karaoke parties.
Other homesĀ Celeb Home on the list include those of actor Clint Eastwood and music legend Elton John. The Western actor’s Bel Air mansion has been described as an “oasis” with its waterfall pool, and the property is complete with a private tennis court and golf course. Meanwhile, the seven-bedroom, 11-bathroom home of singer and actor Lady Gaga is also pretty incredible. Featuring a curved double staircase, ornate chandeliers and a wine cellar, the home is adorned with a wide range of contemporary art pieces by the likes of Awol Erizku, Kerry James Marshall and David Hammons.
But it’s not just Hollywood stars who love to own a luxurious house, as a number of celebs have opted for a more laidback lifestyle. For example, professional basketball player and two-time Super Bowl winner Patrick Mahomes owns a modern Kansas City home, while singer Ariana Grande’s Nashville mansion is designed by Japanese architect Tadao Ando.
